Shell Island

Nestled on the Emerald Coast of northwest Florida near Panama City Beach, has a wealth of water sport opportunities available for your entire family.  Whether you consider yourself a nautical professional and want to be the captain of your own pontoon boat for the day, or if you are an amateur and prefer for one of our Shuttle Boats to ferry you to the Island, we can get you on your way to fun in the sun!  If your spirit is an adventurous one, let us arrange for your snorkeling gear so that you can view the best underwater sites the Island has to offer.  During the busiest days of summer, there occasionally appear to be more people than fish in the Island waters.  Fortunately, the Shell Island Shuttle has designated areas so that you may enjoy the most clear, warm, and protected waters that are full of sea life to enhance your snorkeling experience.  If the solitude of a kayak is calling your name, call us first!  Shell Island Shuttle has kayaks available so that you can glide peacefully across the emerald blue-green waters, taking in every ounce of beauty the Island coastline evokes.  While paddling, you may have a serendipitous encounter with a friendly dolphin or even a sea turtle.

A funny thing happens to people once they visit Shell Island.  Maybe it is the salt air.  Perhaps it is the warm gulf breeze.  It might even be the sparkling white sandy beaches.  Whatever it happens to be, it entices people out on the water.  Seemingly normal, rational people take one trip across Grand Lagoon to this mystical place called Shell Island, and they can’t seem to get enough!  Like all the Islanders who have gone before you, we can assure you that your Shell Island experience is one you won’t forget!  See you at the Island!

      Hi Barbara,
Thanks for inquiring. Depending on traffic it can take anywhere from about one hour to one and 1/2 hours. You can find sand dollars on in the waters off of Shell Island. I can’t promise you that you will find some but alot of people do.

      HI Liz,
Thanks for inquiring about Shell Island snorkeling. The shuttles are open today but it is to rough to snorkel. The water temp is around 63 degrees.

Do you know what days from March 20th-25th would be best for snorkeling? As well, does the snorkeling package include a wetsuit?

    • Randy says:

      Hi Nathan,
We will not be running Sunday or Monday and will resume operation on Tuesday March 22. I would say the latter part of the week. It is going to be a little cool the first part. Sorry the snorkel package does not include a wetsuit.

      Best Regards,
